The database shall contain but not limited to daily news updates, decided cases from the various courts of competent jurisdiction in Ghana, decisions from other legally constituted tribunals, decisions from ad hoc committees, case briefs of various decisions, and any relevant information necessary for the advancement of the Ghanaian jurisprudence. The use of Dennislaw is subject to the terms of use provided in this document. This document shall act as an agreement binding on all users of the platform. The information, content, materials, features, products etc. of Dennislaw are to be used only under the conditions specified in this term of use. The term of use and its subsequent revisions shall apply exclusively to www.dennislawgh.com as well its incidental links including that of www.addentech.com. It is condition to use of Dennislaw that you accept the term of use as its updated or revised from time to time. These terms is subject to change at any time and any change effected shall come into force automatically and immediately with a prospective effect. Ignorance of this fact is no excuse to escape culpability and liability. Also, warnings prior the change may not always communicated. The User must check regularly to ensure they do not do anything to contravene these terms as stated. Please endeavor to read carefully to the end before agreeing to use Dennislaw. If you don’t agree to it, please do not use Dennislaw.
Denis Law is available to legal practitioners, Law students, judges, policy makers and persons who may have interest in the Law. Any of these persons can use the platform as registered users. To become a user of Dennislaw, one must register onto the platform under this term of use. Registration shall be done by way of signing up onto the platform subject to the terms of use herein. Registration does not guarantee automatic use unless one fulfills all other requirements under this term of use.
Every user of Dennislaw shall be granted license to access all documents on the platform. Using of Dennislaw’s platform and all contents, including but not limited to the software, the online data, documents, images, features etc., are subject to this Terms of use, our Privacy Policy, and any other terms, policies, and notices which are published on a segment of the Platform. Your license to use the platform will only cover the period you have signed up and paid for. The user agrees that fees paid to receive services from Dennislaw shall not be recoverable. Your granted access to the platform is a limited, non-transferable and revocable access to use the resources available on the platform. Accordingly, only you can access the platform or the person you duly authorized. In case of the latter, you bear the liabilities of their breaches of this term of use.
Every registered user is permitted to use the resources on a subscribed service on the platform. A user is entitled only to the platform for personal research and legal practices as well as academic works. A user shall not share his password credentials to other persons to use the platform unless the user duly authorized such person to so do and accordingly Clause C of this term of use shall apply.
The user further agrees that:
The use of the Dennislaw shall be at a fee charged and paid prior to signing up for the platform. The fees shall be paid for at once via visa, mobile money, iPay or other money transfer services that may be approved later under the revisions of the term of use. The user agrees to pay all relevant charges or taxes, if any, that may come with the services delivered to the user by Dennislaw. The user agrees to pay the License fee as shall charged by Dennislaw.
Adden Technology Company Ltd. may indemnify any user who has incurred some loss or legal cost, or legal damages because of using Dennislaw in accordance with this term of use. Despite the generality of the above statement, Dennislaw shall not indemnify any user for any loss, cost, damages or whatsoever, where the user;
The user agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Dennislaw and all its associates, agents and assigns from any and all claims, liabilities, expenses, and damages, including reasonable solicitor's fees and costs, made by any third party relating to, how the users uses or attempted to use the Services in contrary to this term of use, your violation of any Law or rights of any third party either known or unknown to Dennislaw and any such claim involving breaches of proprietary rights of any user of Dennislaw, howsoever arising.
Dennislaw respects your information online and has no power to share your confidential information with other persons without your written consent. Dennislaw will not divulge any information about you or your user account to the public or a third party without your written consent. The user agrees that the software and its documentations are unique products of Dennislaw and trade secrets, as such shall be protected and kept as confidential information. Provided always that Dennislaw may use the statistics that may be gathered for users of the platform be it for commercial or academic purpose.
Dennislaw does not claim ownership or legal title in any of the raw materials provided on the database in the form of – including but not limited to- feedback, comments and suggestions as may be submitted to us. Dennislaw shall pay no compensation with respect to the use of use of any information provided by the user and shall possess the sole discretion to remove any form of material from the user from its database without assigning reasons if same is allowed at a point in time.
Dennislaw is owned and operated by Addens Technology Company Ltd. Dennislaw is a copyrighted product protected under the Law. Information, Data, design, features and all related materials with the exception of the raw judgement of Dennislaw are protected by and under the copyright Laws of Ghana and the Designs and trademark Law both within and outside the jurisdiction of Ghana. Information within this platform are to be used for personal and non-commercial works unless otherwise agreed between a user and Adden Technology company Ltd. Consequently, no data can be transmitted, copied, edited, reproduce, published etc. without a written consent from Adden Technology Company Ltd. Any activity actions etc. of the user which violates any of the Laws shall be a basis for liability to legal claims at the appropriate fora. WITHOUT LIMITING THE GENERALITY OF THE FOREGOING, COPYING OR REPRODUCTION OF THE DENNISLAW SOFTWARE OR ANY RELATED DATA OR DOCUMENTATION FOR USE IN OR BY ANY OTHER SERVER OR LOCATION FOR ANY FORM OF REPRODUCTION OR REDISTRIBUTION OR ATTEMPT TO DO ANY SUCH THING OR WHATSOEVER IS EXPRESSLY PROHIBITED.
Adden Technology Company ltd. shall have and reserved the right to prosecute third parties and users for the breaches of its property right.
In the event of force majeure, Adden Technology Company Ltd shall bear no liability or whatsoever for losses or damages that may occur because of force majeure. Force majeure in this term of use refer to either acts of God or fire, natural disaster, terrorism, labour stoppage, war or military hostilities, or inability to deliver services on scheduled except that any payment or delivery date may be extended to the extent of delays resulting from any force majeure event.
A user who has an account with Dennislaw can have his account terminated if he acts contrary to the terms of use or the privacy policy. Dennislaw and its users agree that any party who intends to terminate this agreement shall give a thirty days’ notice in writing to the other party. The termination shall be contrary to this term of use if it so happens that the party at fault has before the expiration of the thirty days period paid a reasonable sum as compensation for the infractions. Upon termination of this agreement, any relationship that might been built by the user and Dennislaw shall forthwith terminate immediately. All moneys payable prior to the termination shall be paid or remains payable and all services to be delivered prior to the termination shall be delivered or remains deliverable.
Any notice to be given under this term of use shall be within 30 days from the date it is to be sent. All such notices must be in writing.
Both parties agree that the Laws of the republic of Ghana should govern the operation of the Dennislaw and all activities thereon. Accordingly, each party consents to submits itself to the jurisdiction of the Ghanaian courts in the appropriate manner.
Each party agrees that this term of use shall be bind all successors, agents, assigns etc. to it. Dennislaw reserves the exclusive right to amend, change or delete the Terms of Use and shall notify the user accordingly.
